Dear Madam! Dear Sir!

On your website it says that you regularly measure air pollution and that you do not discharge process water. My question is the following:

1. where will the process water go? 2. where exactly is the air pollution measured and what is the latest data?

Our expert's answer:

Our company does not produce batteries, which is a very water-intensive activity, but recycles waste from the battery industry. Most incoming waste undergoes dry grinding and separation by particle size and material type, a technology that does not require water. The composition of the waste water generated is overwhelmingly the same as municipal waste water. In some cases, it is necessary to discharge the scrap batteries in brine, but this is recycled back into the system. Once it cannot be used again, it is disposed of as hazardous waste by a licensed specialist company. The same happens with the contaminated water generated during cleaning, which, unlike other companies, is not discharged into the public sewer system but is also disposed of as hazardous waste. In 2022, nearly 53 m3 of hazardous liquid waste have been transferred by a licensed waste management company from our site in Bátonyterenye, and in 2023, about 91 m3 of hazardous liquid waste have been transferred.

During the year 2023, a total of 5 different accredited emission measurements were carried out at the emission points in accordance with the provisions of Government Decree 306/2010 (XII. 23.) on air protection and other applicable regulations. The results were also made available to the competent authorities. In none of the cases did the measured results show an exceedance of the limit value, and in most cases they were below 1% of the limit value. As the company is currently not active in the production sector, air quality protection measurements will be started next time the plant is restarted. We plan to publish the relevant measurement results on our public website to inform all our interested parties.
